Night number one of the WDRA, 2007 “Rocky Mountain Mayhem” tour saw 19 cars show up to the ¼ mile speedway in Western Colorado. Series owner, Leon Moore was pleasantly surprised and very grateful for the good car count as was Ron Austin, TMS owner and promoter.

The field was divided into 3 heats to line up the 30 lap main event. Heat # 1 went to red flag just as quick as it went green for a turn 1 accident involving #38 Jesse Dimick as he caught the outside guardrail and ended up on his lid. Jesse was a little shook up but had a smile after crawling out of the upside down car. After a quick clean up the race was back to action with 2006 WDRA Champion, Dean Moore grabbing the lead and taking the first 2007 heat race win. Heat #2 saw the return of Brett Hallmark to WDRA action and he picked up where he left off by taking the black #75 to the front and to the heat race win. Jeep Berry took his #75b to the win in heat race #3.

After calculating the passing points from the heats, the WDRA, Big Willie's Garage pole dash ran 6 quick laps with Dean Moore taking the win.

The 30 lap Feature had Dean Moore on the pole with fellow Grand Junction driver Brett Hallmark on the outside. From the drop of the green flag Dean Moore took the lead but was pressured hard by Hallmark, Berry and Paonias, Curt Daniels but a slow leaking tire forced Dean to take a higher line allowing Jeep Berry to not only pass Hallmark but the lead as well. The big movers of the main were #15 of Corey Smith moving up from the 18th spot to the 5th position and the #16b of Jason Schobinger moving from the 12th spot to 3rd place. The leader did not have all clear sailing, as the white flag came out the #17b of Scott Rhoades and the #47 of Kyle Hill tangled in the back stretch as Berry was closing in quick, fortunately each driver showed poise and everyone came out unscathed as Jeep went on to the win.
